Mine works awesome, the games fit in REALLY tight but its great nonetheless.
Also, has anyone tried Final Fantasy IV (II), Final Fantasy VI (III), Earthbound, Super Mario RPG, Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, Chrono Trigger, A Link to the Past, or any other “heavy duty” games on this? These are the games I still play the most, and if the compatibility is iffy then I don’t know how interested I am.

They don’t have to be made by Nintendo, as the patents for the SNES’s technology expired some time ago. Anyone can make and sell the technology legally.

No, they are most certainly not illegal, as they use the actual game cartridges, and not ROM images. Go read a book before making accusations that have no merit to back them up.
